Research and Evaluation Manager

Location: Remote; work may be performed anywhere in United States; however, will require ability to travel occasionally to various locations for meetings, trainings and other events as needed that may include evenings and weekends.

Salary Range: $65,788-$85,262

Position Details: The Research and Evaluation Manager oversees activities and research and evaluation projects across multiple issue areas within Caminar Latino-Latinos United for Peace and Equity (LUPE). The position works primarily in the National Center to Advance Peace for Children, Youth and Families (NCAP); a national leader dedicated to improving outcomes for those affected by domestic violence in the child protection and custody systems and advancing protection and healing for all survivors, especially those from Black, Indigenous, and Latinx communities. Caminar Latino-LUPE seeks an experienced evaluator committed to culturally centered, equity focused, and participatory strategies for evaluation. The successful candidate will be excited about innovation and disrupting traditional research paradigms and has experience with elevating the values, voices, and validity of those most impacted by evaluation and program activities.

Functions and Responsibilities

  1. Manage evaluation and monitoring activities including:
  • Plan, monitor and report on training and TA activities, design and status of projects, and challenges with supervisor, team, and project partners as appropriate.
  • Support the development and implementation of data collection and analysis, evaluation and research tools, protocols, and training guides.
  • Ensure adherence to data privacy, security, archival and destruction requirements, and other contractual stipulations.
  • Lead the development of written progress reports, presentations and other materials for funders and partners.
  1. Lead the implementation of research and evaluation activities across project areas including:
  • Conduct background research, literature reviews, surveys, and listening sessions.
  • Support capacity building efforts among diverse constituents including evaluators, program implementors, federal grant officers, and other project partners.
  • Produce publications, applied research papers, articles, fact sheets, surveys, community-focused publications, and reports.
  • Facilitate peer to peer learning, deliver training and technical assistance (TA) and disseminate research and written materials for project resources and other publications.
  • Develop land deliver live and virtual trainings, including asynchronous training modules.
  • Identify and develop resources, examples, and templates to support evaluation activities.

Skills and Abilities: Experience with domestic violence, child welfare and/or related judicial systems and providing training and TA, program or curriculum development, and continuous quality improvement. Proficient in at least one statistical data analysis program (e.g., Dedoose, SPSS) and strong data visualization skills. Expertise in participatory, culturally specific, and community-based evaluation approaches.

Education and Experience: Master’s degree in research and evaluation, social or behavioral science, public health or a related field and 3 years’ experience in research and evaluation. In-depth racial, ethnic, and gender equity expertise is also required. Survivors with direct lived experience with domestic violence, child welfare, immigration, and other systems are encouraged to apply.

FT Survivor Advocate

Caminar Latino is located in Atlanta, Georgia, and has worked with Latino families in Atlanta for 32 years. Caminar Latino creates opportunities for Latino families to transform their lives and communities and works to change the social conditions that give rise to violence. In 2018, Caminar Latino and Latinos United for Peace and Equity joined forces to launch a comprehensive approach toward integrating anti-oppression into organizational efforts. Successful candidates will demonstrate commitment to learning, self-reflection and cultural humility. Caminar Latino is currently seeking a Full-Time Family Advocate I who will work in partnership with advocates and facilitators working with families affected by violence.
General Purpose
To provide support and resources to Latina/o survivors of Domestic Violence
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Provide support to other Advocates
  • Facilitate one of the weekly support groups for Latina Survivors
  • Provide direct services for survivors
  • On-going case management
  • Court accompaniment
  • Assistance with Temporary Protective Orders
  • Referrals to shelters, legal services, and counseling services
  • Interpretation
  • Meet with advocates on a weekly basis
  • Attend weekly team meetings
  • Monitor progress of participants
  • Prepare correspondence for DFCS, Courts, or other agencies when needed
  • Complete necessary paperwork for each of the participants (i.e. client intake sheet.)
  • Maintain records for program participants
  • Attend local and state trainings about domestic violence and other related topics
  • Participate in outreach initiatives/trainings in the community
  • Other duties as needed
Education & Experience
  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent but College degree preferred
  • Mastery of computer programs such as Microsoft Office and internet skills including use of e-mails, group messaging and information gathering
