Funded through DHR Promoting Safe and Stable Families Program the parenting program is geared towards families experiencing domestic violence and/or at risk of entering the child protection system.
Our goal is to help parents learn to look at their own beliefs and expectations about children and what they can do to increase the safety and well being of their family.
The six part parenting series is provided 4 times a year in Spanish free of charge and free childcare is provided to those attending
- Parents will increase knowledge about culturally appropriate parenting practices, including effective discipline strategies for different developmental stages.
- Parents will learn about the impact of family violence on children
- Parents will learn how to effectively communicate and listen with their child(ren)
- Parents will learn how to set appropriate boundaries
