Latinos United for Peace and Equity

Latinos United for Peace and Equity (LUPE) is the national arm of Caminar Latino. Like Caminar Latino, LUPE’s mission is to create opportunities for Latino families, affected by violence, to transform their lives and their communities. Nationally, and internationally, LUPE advances this mission by making the stories of survivors and communities visible and working to eradicate the structural and social conditions that give rise to violence.

LUPE’s national leaders brings a breadth of content knowledge and experience in domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse, and human trafficking and work to effect change in these areas by enhancing approaches and the impact of:

  • culture, oppression and intersectionality;
  • trauma-informed responses;
  • immigrant communities;
  • language access;
  • systems reform;
  • children exposed to domestic violence, resilience, and the co-occurrence of domestic violence and child maltreatment;
  • meaningful collaboration;
  • culturally-relevant program development, implementation and evaluation; and
